Nintendo themselves have released a defence of their new expansion plans, with Nintendo's Bill Trinen telling IGN: “It was tough, because we actually had a lot of debate in terms of do we announce it, how do we announce it. The response to this news has been mixed and will certainly make interesting reading for Nintendo as they look to successfully launch the Switch this year. The Expansion Pass will be available for both the Nintendo Switch and Wii U versions of the game and are identical. A Holiday 2017 content pack is also being primed, adding a new dungeon and a new original story.
